This page contains both secure and nonsecure items

Hi all

This has been driving me nuts for months now, if I access my site from IE
https://db.cornwall.gov.uk/PlanningApplications and then hover over one of
the 2-level menus it comes up with the message:

"This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display
the nonsecure items?"

I've confirmed that there are "no" nonsecure items on this site, it works ok
from Firefox but not IE.

Can someone have a look at the site and see if they get the same problem -
it's been driving me crazy - and why does it only come up when hovering over
the menu item?

Thanks all

it's because the popup is loaded into a non-secure iframe. A solution is
provided at the link above, but for the sake of posterity:

<script runat="server">
protected override void Render(HtmlTextWriter writer)
{
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(typeof(Pag e),
"MenuHttpsWorkaround", Menu1.ClientID +
"_Data.iframeUrl='https://myserver/someblankpage.htm';", true);
base.Render(writer);
}
</script

This page contains both secure and non secure items.

Hi,
My ASP.NET application uses SSL on IIS6. up on visiting some pages, IE 6
shows this security alert:
This page contains both secure and non secure items.
Do you want to display non-secure items?
Regardless I answer no (or yes), everything works fine.
We don't like our users see that message because it makes them nervous
without any good reason.
How can I track why the browswer shows that flase security alert?
Thanks,
AlanHi Alan,
Are you using SmartNavigation in the page or referencing scripts that are
outside the Application?
Here's an article on the SmartNav problem:

It is not smartnavigation because the warning pops up on one specific page.
I am pasting the page source at the end of this post:

Hi,
the error occurs because browser is fetching content both from secure and
insecure pages. Unless there isn't any clear that comes with HTTP (and uses
SSL that is HTTPS), you just need to remove the HTML snippet by snippet to
test out which part causes the problem.

Hi,

the error occurs because browser is fetching content both from secure and
insecure pages. Unless there isn't any clear that comes with HTTP (and uses
SSL that is HTTPS), you just need to remove the HTML snippet by snippet to
test out which part causes the problem.

Hi Brent,

I sometimes get that at my end whilst browsing websites, I think its where
there is content on SSL (https://) etc - and some that isn't (would make
sense based on the error message huh) - I think you can choose not to show
these messages within the browser settings - not sure where though -
probably security/privacy or something.
